Privacy policy

Short version: there are no accounts, no cookies of our own, no analytics and no advertising. The site keeps ordinary web-server logs and nothing else about you.

Effective 16 September 2026.

Who is responsible

This site is an independent, privately operated project. Privacy questions and requests: see the contact page.

What we collect, and why

Server logs. Like every website, our web server records each request: the address requested, the time, your IP address and browser identifier. We use these logs to keep the site running and to detect abuse. They are rotated and deleted automatically on the server's normal schedule and are not combined with anything else.

Searches. A name, NPI or hospital you type is part of the page address, so it appears in the server log above. We keep no separate record of searches.

That is the whole list. There is nothing to sign up for, so we never hold your email address, and we do not ask for - and you should not send us - any health information.

Third parties

Every file a page needs - stylesheet, script, fonts, images - is served from this site's own server. No third-party script, pixel, font service or embed is loaded, so viewing a page tells nobody but us that you did.

Links to federal sources (CMS, NPPES, the OIG) and to map or clinical-trial sites take you to those organisations' own websites, which have their own policies.

Cookies

We set no cookies. If the site is placed behind a content-delivery network to protect it from automated abuse, that network may set a purely technical cookie of its own; it is not used to identify or track you.

About the people on this site

The site shows information about clinicians and hospitals, not about visitors. All of it is reproduced from public federal registers - NPPES, CMS Care Compare, CMS Open Payments, the Medicare provider utilisation files and the OIG exclusion list - which the agencies publish for exactly this purpose. We add nothing about a person that those files do not contain. To correct a record, the provider updates it at the source; to report a page that misstates the source, see corrections.

Your rights

Because we hold nothing about you beyond transient server logs, there is normally nothing to access, correct or erase. If you believe otherwise, ask us and we will look. Depending on where you live you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA; we honour them for everyone.

Children and changes

The site is not directed at children under 16. If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date.
